How Many Poker Chips for 8 Players?
Updated Oct 27, 2026
For 8 players you need 200 chips for a $20 cash game (8 stacks of 25), plus about 16 green chips for rebuys. A 10,000-chip tournament needs 224 chips (8 stacks of 28). A 500-chip set covers it. Eight players need 96 white and 96 red chips before any rebuys, and many 300-chip sets only have 50 to 100 of each color, so plan on 500.
